Moments that sparkle in Early Years at Stubbings

The federation journey begins in our EYFS classroom where we love to learn through play and make our first friendships. The children are full of curiosity, determination and a never-ending sense of fun! Their learning environment ‘sparkles’; the provision is tailored to ignite the children’s individual interests, it allows them to explore, challenge themselves, ‘shine’ and have lots of fun!

Adventures in the Woods

We are loving our woodland adventures that happen every Friday morning, especially climbing over and under trees and having picnics in the sun.

‘I love discovering magic doors in the trees that all my friends can follow me through!’

Lunar New Year

To celebrate the Lunar New Year Spring festival one of our parents treated us to a demonstration on how to make Chinese dumplings. We filled our dumplings and folded them and then Irene boiled them. When we cut them open some children had lucky money inside and won a beautiful Chinese decoration for their prize.

‘I am an expert dumpling maker and me and my Mum taught all of my friends how to make dumplings too!’

Vegetable Garden

The children were challenged to make their own vegetable garden after we had read Oliver's Vegetables and retold the story.

They loved hiding the potatoes deep in the soil and then finding many different ways of digging them up.

Next, we will be planting our seed potatoes that have been chitting on the classroom window sill.
