Welcome to Hebden Bridge - one of the prettiest towns in the UK

Many places lay claim to being one of the best places to live in the UK, but once you’ve experienced Hebden Bridge, it’s hard to argue that our federation doesn’t lie in a wonderful part of the world.

Landscape, diversity and a warm welcome await those lucky enough to stumble upon this Yorkshire idyll, and if you need further convincing, have a look below.

Hebden Highlights

  • Plenty to eat and drink

Hebden is full of local places to enjoy a drink or fantastic meal, and has something that caters to everyone. Whether it’s a traditional ale in the CAMRA award winning pub The Fox and Goose, delicious pizzas from local legend Marco’s, or just a traditional pub lunch at The White Lion - you’re sorted.

  • Independent shopping

With a bustling open air market running regularly through the week to a busy high street filled with independent traders, there’s a real identity to Hebden which draws in shoppers from all around. Not dominated by chains, there’s a unique shopping experience to be had around every corner.

  • Hebden Bridge Picture House

Having a cinema in a town is a real boon, but having one as vibrant as the Picture House makes all the difference to our community. Showing everything from the newest blockbusters to the critically lauded art house films, the Picture House has something for everyone…they even hold their own annual film festival so who knows who you might be rubbing shoulders with in the local coffeee shops!

  • The Trades Club

This small music venue punches well above its weight with many famous bands either having started out here or toured this venue when famous as a rites of passage. Everyone from The Fall through to Chrissy Hynde has played - but be quick as tickets sell out fast.

  • Parades and festivals galore!

It seems every weekend there’s a different festival, parade or event in Hebden, like the annual Handmade Parade picture above. People flock to attend them from all over and there’s plenty to do for adults and children alike.

  • Hebden's Pride

Hebden is such an open town and welcome to all, not least our thriving LGBTQ+ community. Each year’ Pride Festival just gets bigger and bigger (that’s Riverside Junior School in the background above by-the-way) and children across the festival are often involved creating learning inspired by the various events held over this weekend.

“I love the wee community in Hebden Bridge and bumping into lovely people!”
